I got an Avis car from Sumburgh, Shetland. It was all very easy and simple, as was the return (actually they were very flexible as I had to go back to the hotel to collect my left luggage and therefore had to return the vehicle about 4 hours late).

I hired a Fiat 500 from Inverness Airport and not only was it much better than I expected for such a small car, it was new, clean and tidy and we had no problems during the week. Both collection and delivery were seamless, with friendly, engaging and professional staff who, whilst obliged to provide the usual 'extras', were not at all intrusive. All in all, an extremely pleasant experience that I would happily repeat.
